FEDERICO GARCIA LORCA (전반부)
Spanish poet Federico GarciaLorca was one of the most popular poets and dramatists of the 20th century. He was also a musician and a member of ‘Generation of 1927’, aninfluential group of writers and artists who promoted the use of innovativeforms of art and poetry.
Lorca was born on June 5,1899, in Fuente Vaqueros, Spain. As a child, he was fond of learning “pop”music, reading romantic novels, and building toy theater sets. Of these interests, he was most fascinated with music. He even underwent training to be a classical pianist. However, when his piano teacher died, his interest shifted to writing poems, which he recited in local cafes.
Initially, Lorca wanted tostudy law at the University of Granada, but he eventually abandoned the idea and decided to pursue literature and theater instead. He wrote his first book, Impresionesy Paisajes, in 1918. In 1919, Lorca moved to Madrid and stayed at the Student’s Residence, the town’s intellectual center. It was during this time that he started organizing theatrical performances.
